Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA)

The OFA is the best source of information for the breeder and buyer. The mission of OFA is: To promote the health and welfare of companion animals through a reduction in the incidence of genetic disease.

On the OFA website, offa.org you will find:

• A list of tests available, with summaries of those diseases and protocol for testing

• Database of test results

• Information on the DNA Repository operated jointly with CHIC and AKCCHF

• Breed surveys and results

• Clinic calendars

• Educational material

New OFA Dentition Database!

OFA has now opened a database to certify that all teeth have erupted. AKC does not have a dental standard for the breed, and the intent of the data is not meant to certify that the dog meets breed standards.
